Born at Poovathussery on 25th
of February 1921, Mar Joseph Irimpen was ordained
priest on the 5th of May, 1952. He was nominated the
first Bishop of Palakkad on the 20th of June, 1974,
while he was the Vicar General of the Eparchy of
Trichur. He was consecrated Bishop on the 8th of
September, 1974 and took charge of the Eparchy on the
same day. He retired on 6th December 1994 and died on
23rd August, 1997. |

Born at Puthenchira on the
26th of July 1934, Mar James Pazhayattil was ordained
priest on the 3rd of October, 1961 by H. Em. Cardinal
Gracius of Bombay at Papal Seminary, Poona. He was
nominated the first Bishop of Irinjalakuda on the 22nd
of June 1978. He was consecrated Bishop on the 10th
September, 1978 and took charge of the Eparchy on the
same day. |

Born at Mattom on the 7th of February
1934, Mar Paul Chittilapilly did his priestly studies at St.
Joseph's Seminary, Aluva and the Propaganda Fide College, Rome.
On the 18th of October 1961 he was ordained priest at Rome by
the late Archbishop of Changanassery Mar Mathew Kavukatt. He
took Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran
